Acute and Community Care Division
The Acute & Community Care Division Services are available for individuals aged 16 and over, experiencing a serious mental illness. We encourage family involvement as we support clients in their route to recovery. Our Division is comprised of:
The Admission Assessment Program (AAP) (acute inpatient program) - a 31 bed acute care psychiatric program that functions in a manner similar to a general hospital mental health program.
Outpatient Services Program (OPSP) - a community based program of the Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene providing holistic care and wellness promotion to adults with a serious mental illness living in North Simcoe.
Rehabilitation Services promotes recovery and personal growth through Leisure, Education, Employment, Music Therapy, Hairdressing and Personal Care. We provide specialized services for persons experiencing serious mental illness that increase independence, promotes wellness and enhances their sense of meaning and purpose in life.
Housing Services - a department of the Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene, working to improve access to safe affordable housing and supports for people with serious mental illness. The Homes for Special Care program is coordinated through Housing Services.
The Spiritual Care Program facilitates the process of exploring ones beliefs and the impact beliefs have on the way life is experienced. Our Multi-faith Spiritual Care Providers assist patients and staff to connect spirituality and mental health through one-to-one counselling, focused group encounters, and spiritual support to people of all cultures and faith.
