FORENSIC DIVISION MISSION STATEMENT
Provide clinical assessment, care, treatment and rehabilitation of individuals who suffer from a mental disorder and represent a significant threat to personal or public safety
Facilitate the safe community reintegration of such individuals by the development and implementation of a comprehensive program of risk assessment and risk management.
Provide court-ordered psychiatric assessment of accused persons with regard to issues of dangerousness, criminal responsibility, fitness to stand trial, appropriateness of a Dangerous Offender designation and other matters at law.
Conduct research which contributes to scientific knowledge about aggression and mental disorders.
Provide education about identification, assessment and treatment of dangerous persons.
