MHCP Board of Directors and OPSEU Ratify the First Contract as a New Corporation

At the board meeting on January 7^th, MHCP Board of Directors passed the tentative agreement to make the OPSEU Local 329 and Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene Corporation contract final.   Local 329 members ratified the agreement on January 5, 2010 with an 80% acceptance vote.

The bargaining teams had unanimously recommended ratification to each of their groups. Speaking on behalf of the bargaining teams, Martha McDonald, President, Local 329 and Michelle Quealey, Chair, Employer Bargaining Team, commented:   “We are pleased that the tentative agreement was ratified. We want to thank, in advance, all those who will be working hard to implement this new contract.”
